How to Calculate Mulch Needed: Cubic Yards and Bags

By
Estimate how much mulch you need for a rectangular garden bed. Enter length, width, and planned depth to calculate volume, then use the volume printed on your bag to estimate how many whole bags to buy. Calculate mulch volume and bags Use a uniform depth appropriate for your project. Bag size is volume, not weight. Check the package label; not all bags contain the same amount. This calculator needs JavaScript. If this message stays visible, the calculator has not loaded. How to Calculate Billable Hours: Minutes, Rates and Billing Increments

By
Calculating billable hours means adding the time eligible under your agreement, converting that time to hours, and applying the agreed hourly rate. Keep the actual time separate from any permitted billing increment rounding. Use the Billable Hours Calculator to add durations and estimate a charge with exact-minute billing or an agreed increment. How to calculate billable hours Record the actual duration of each task. Confirm which time is eligible for billing under your agreement. Apply the agreed rounding rule, if any. Divide billable minutes by 60. Multiply the result by the hourly rate. Charge = billable minutes / 60 x hourly rate. Example: adding time from two tasks Suppose eligible work takes 1 hour 20 minutes and 45 minutes. The total is 125 minutes, or 2 hours 5 minutes. At $90 per hour with exact-minute billing, the charge is 125 / 60 x $90 = $187.50 . Do not multiply a rounded decimal display when more precision is available. Keeping the total in minutes avoids an int...

How to Calculate Macros: Calories, Percentages and Grams

By
A macro calculator converts between calories, percentages and grams of protein, carbohydrates and fat. Before calculating, decide which quantities you already know. A calorie total with a chosen energy split answers a different question from a list of macro gram amounts. Neither calculation establishes the food intake or nutrient balance that is appropriate for an individual. The Macro Calculator: Calories, Protein, Carbs & Fat supports both directions. It uses general energy factors of 4 kcal per gram of protein, 4 kcal per gram of carbohydrate and 9 kcal per gram of fat. Use one consistent period, such as a meal or a day, throughout your entries. Start with shares of calories In percentage mode, enter your chosen calorie total and the percentage of that energy assigned to each macro. Percentages refer to calories, not the weight of the food or the percentage of grams. The protein, carbohydrate and fat shares must add up to exactly 100%. For each macro, multiply total c...
