Your estimated sales commission
Gross commission only, rounded to the nearest cent. This is not take-home pay. Changing an input clears this result until you calculate again.

How to calculate sales commission
Commission = sales amount x commission rate / 100
- Enter the amount of sales eligible for commission under your agreement.
- Enter the percentage rate. For 5%, enter 5, not 0.05.
- Select Calculate commission to see the estimated amount and calculation.
For example, $10,000 in eligible sales at a 5% rate produces $500 in gross commission: $10,000 x 5 / 100 = $500.

What sales amount should I enter?
Use the amount specified in your commission agreement. Depending on that agreement, this may be collected revenue, sales after discounts and returns, or another eligible amount. The calculator does not decide which sales qualify or subtract refunds, expenses, or taxes from your input.
Frequently asked questions
Can I enter a decimal commission rate?
Yes. For a 7.5% commission, enter 7.5 or 7,5. Both fields accept up to two decimal places. Do not include dollar signs, percent signs, or thousands separators.
Does this include a base salary?
No. The result is commission alone. If your plan pays a base salary plus commission, add the base pay for the same period separately, using the terms of your agreement. For hourly earnings, try our Hourly to Salary Calculator.
Does it calculate tiered commissions?
No. It applies one rate to the full sales amount entered. Tiered plans, quotas, accelerators, caps, and splits require the specific rules of your plan. A higher rate may apply only to sales above a threshold or to all sales; those approaches give different results.
Is this my take-home pay?
No. The result is a gross estimate before taxes, deductions, and any adjustments required by your agreement. It does not determine when commission is earned or payable.
What are the input limits?
Sales amounts from $0 to $10,000,000 and rates from 0% to 100% are supported. Zero is valid; an empty field is not. If your agreement uses a higher rate, this version does not support it.
How are fractional cents handled?
The commission is calculated from your entered amount and percentage, then rounded once to the nearest cent, with half a cent rounded up. Your employer or client may use different rounding rules.
